Drone Operator
Position Overview:
The Drone Operator is an FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Working under the direction of the Drone Supervisor, the Drone Operator is responsible for piloting one of our DMR Field Ranger X50 spray drones or a DMR D313 thermal drone during service flight operations. We may expand our drone fleet to include numerous other DMR crop dusting drones and thermal varieties.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-operation site surveys.
Perform activities such as using drones and/or applications to create drone spray maps, routes to determine.
Conduct field site surveys, create drone field maps, and prepare drones for operations.
Pilot spray drones to effectively deliver applications during field operations
Process post-operation drone maps and data; assist in the creation of field reports to meet applicable company, state, and federal regulations.
Adhere to all safety requirements and procedures during drone flight operations
Comply with all requirements under FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107) and all additional FAA regulations and/ or exemptions.
Follow the direction of the Field Drone Supervisor
Understand and assist with chemical mixing for spray operations
Assist with the setup, preparation, and maintenance of drone equipment and accessories for spray operations
Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and spare parts, ensuring everything is in working order.
Other unspecified duties related to drone spraying, trailer upkeep, equipment management, warehouse operations, etc.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or education is a plus.
FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (14 CFR Part 107)
2+ years of professional or extensive drone flight experience
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work in various outdoor conditions and travel to different field locations.
Basic technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in agriculture, spray drone operations, or related fields.
Technical skills related to drone maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to safely drive a large truck and trailer in offroad and challenging environments
Drone Technician
Position Overview:
As a drone technician, your primary goal will be troubleshooting, repairing, and testing drones. This role also includes giving technical support to our growing customer base. To succeed in this position, you will need to learn and develop a deeper understanding of drone components and functions to provide our customers with top-level technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn and maintain an expert understanding of DMR platforms
Repair and troubleshooting of drones being used by our customers
Live troubleshooting via phone and email with customers needing technical support
Completing analysis and diagnostics on drones received at our repair shop
Accurately completing drone repairs in a timely fashion
Manage parts inventory and shipments
Work with DMR support to troubleshoot and warranty components on drones
Assist in the sales process by performing demonstrations for prospective customers
Perform custom applications for customers
Quickly learn and become proficient with new drone brands as our offerings expand
Maintain an organized workspace
Qualifications:
Part 107 certified or the ability to obtain certification
Vast knowledge of drone software and hardware (in particular DMR Technologies drones)
Have built and operated one of the following: multi-rotor drones, rc aircraft, rc cars/trucks
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly describe technical processes
Self-motivated and accountable
High school diploma
Agriculture knowledge is a plus, but not needed
Drone Sales Representative
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Drone Sales Representative to join our team. This role is integral to driving SOLA Drones’ growth by engaging with prospective clients, identifying their needs, and matching them with the right drone solutions. As part of the sales team, you’ll work closely with agricultural and commercial customers to promote our lineup, which includes the DMR Field Ranger X50 and upcoming DMR D313 thermal drone. Your role will involve managing client relationships, expanding into new markets, and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Client Engagement
Identify and develop new sales opportunities with farmers, agribusinesses, and other commercial clients.
Provide product demonstrations, either in-office or in-field, to showcase drone capabilities and potential applications.
Consult with customers to understand their unique requirements and recommend tailored drone solutions.
Market Development and Expansion
Conduct outreach to potential clients within Louisiana’s agriculture sector and beyond.
Actively participate in trade shows, conferences, and community events to represent SOLA Drones and DMR and to connect with prospects.
Gather insights on market trends and competitor products to help SOLA Drones maintain a competitive edge.
Customer Support and After-Sales Service
Collaborate with our technical and repair teams to ensure a seamless customer experience, from sale to post-purchase support.
Follow up with clients post-purchase to offer guidance, answer questions, and support their ongoing needs.
Sales Reporting and Target Achievement
Track and report on sales activities and progress towards monthly and quarterly targets.
Provide regular updates on customer feedback and market demands to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications:
FAA Remote Pilot Certificate or the ability/interest to obtain (14 CFR Part 107)
Proven experience in sales, preferably in technology or agriculture sectors.
Strong knowledge of agricultural or commercial drone applications (experience with DMR products is a plus).
Excellent communication skills, both in-person and remote, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
Self-driven, organized, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, demos, and events as needed.
